Project Door

I have been busy for the past month on a secret project of mine.

it’s the DOOR.

I got to fit a door!!!!

it is not as easy as going to the hardware store and buy a door.  Because it isn’t a standard door, i’ve need to order a custom made door for it.

When the door arrives, it is a panel of wood, and thats it.  there’s no pre-drill hole for door knobs or anything

just a plain piece of big wood.

then

i went out and bought 3 items

1.  the screws for the hinges8g 30mm timber screw

2.  door lock kitpassage door and lock kit

and

3.  door installation kit (with saw drill for doors and locks)

irwin door lock installation kit

first i need to measure where the existing locks are, IMG_1065 and mark them.

IMG_0887 then i will mark where the door knobs will go.

take out the saw drill bit and fit it to the

door and start drilling

Measure where the existing hinges will go and got to cut 1mm set back for the hinges.

bear in mind, i couldn’t find a chisel at the time, so ive used a knife to try to cut it.

and ok i failed.

so i went out and bought a set of chisel.

i’ve thought i made 2mm allowance for opening.IMG_0052

gotta make at least 4-5mm allowance total for both side.

NOW wats left is to Chisel or Plain all those access wood away…IMG_0051
